Renewing your ShareGate subscription in 2022 for the UK or Ireland

7 things to be aware of if your ShareGate license is due to expire in 2022.

1. Although it is sometimes referred to as a subscription, your ShareGate license is NOT automatically renewed
You will need to purchase a new license before your old license expires to maintain access to the software.
 
2. You can renew your ShareGate license early
You can renew your ShareGate license up to 3 months before your current license is due to expire.  It is a good idea to renew early as it helps you to maintain a continuation of service. Your new license period is calculated to follow your existing license, so you don’t lose out.  For example, if your 1-year license is due to expire on 1st December 2022 and you renew early on 1st October 2022, your new license won’t expire until 1st December 2023.
 
3. A name change for ShareGate Productivity
ShareGate is the new name for ShareGate Productivity, this incorporates the migration tools that you will be familiar with in ShareGate Desktop and the Teams management features that you would have come across in ShareGate Apricot.
 
4. ShareGate Users and Activations
Check that you are licensing the correct number of users, ShareGate is licensed based on the number of activations needed.  Therefore, a 5 activation ShareGate license will cover you for up to 5 software activations of the Migration tool. Using the Teams management module does not count towards your license activations.
 
5. You can transfer a ShareGate activation to a new computer or user

6. Always check the ShareGate End User license and Maintenance Agreement
