We have partnered with Sharegate, to provide our customers in the UK with the simplest solution to SharePoint migrations available.

When embarking on a SharePoint project, there always comes the time when we have to discuss content, and the migration of content.  Sometimes it is a straight forward discussion, but more often than not, a little more complex...  Thankfully this conversation has been made easier for us, as we have just signed a partnership with Sharegate.

We have worked on SharePoint migrations for many years now, using different approaches and familiar tools available in the market, but what makes Sharegate different?  Sharegate is just really easy to use and it works. It is a light but powerful tool that uses simple drag and drop functionality to copy content including SharePoint Lists, Libraries, Workflows, Groups and Permission Levels, and it’s affordable.

And there are even more benefits:
  • No server installation
  • Migrate from any SharePoint version to any other SharePoint version; Office365,  SharePoint Server 2007, SharePoint 2010, SharePoint 2013
  • Migrate SharePoint users, groups and permission levels
  • Migrate Out-of-the-box Workflows
  • Remap SharePoint columns and content types before migrating
  • Preserve version history
  • Migration reports

For more information about how Sharegate will help you save and speed on your migration, contact us on +44 (0)1480 802280 or email enquiry@isc-software.com

Peter Baddeley, ISC's head of SharePoint, will be speaking at SharePoint Saturday in Belgium on 27th April 2013.

Peter is presenting a session titled
Power Users and Decision Makers: Real World Experiences of SharePoint 2013 Extranet Deployments

"SharePoint 2013 represents a new challenge for many organisations, and many prefer to wait before implementing/upgrading. As with any new technology there are the early adopters, who want to embrace the benefits rapidly but understand there may be risks. Early adopters are often keen to share their experiences and this session focuses on two of those. Both solutions provided extranet functionality to partners/customers, and faced a decision about whether to use the 2010 or 2013 platform. It will be considered what extra value SharePoint 2013 brings in the area of extranets, in terms of both security and functionality. Finally was 2013 the right decision, did the enhancements to the product outweigh the challenges faced implementing the new technology"

This years event will be held at Xylos :
Business Faculty Brussel
St. Lendriksborre 6 Font Saint Landry
1120 Brussel (Neder-Over-Heembeek)

You can register for this event at http://www.sharepointsaturday.org/belgium/default.aspx

Headquartered in Dublin and with offices in the US, VistaTEC is considered a world leading localisation provider. The company is recognised for its expertise, quality and working in partnership with some of the largest global tech companies.  With various SharePoint installations that included SharePoint 2007 and 2010 extranet and intranet sites, VistaTEC approached ISC to help them to better manage these sites on one single and secure environment.

ISC reviewed the existing systems and designed a best approach to implement a new SharePoint 2013 environment (while in RTM) to allow the migration of sites in a managed and controlled way.  Once the implementation was completed ISC began working with VistaTEC to migrate its sites in addition to enhancing SharePoint functionalities to meet their specific requirements.

In a recent review, Jerry Lane, IT manager at VistaTEC commented:
"We engaged with ISC to upgrade and consolidate our SharePoint 2007 & SharePoint 2010 environments to SharePoint 2013 as soon as SP2013 went RTM. They took on the task, got up to speed very quickly on SharePoint 2013, developed migration plans and timelines, built seperate "Test & Dev." and "Live" SP2013 environments. They also implemented an OPENID (and other 3rd party authentication) solution on the SP2013 farm. Actively sought out solutions to some issues encountered on SP2013, which as it had not gone on general release yet, had limited online knowledge and help available. A very high knowledge of SharePoint and they took time to understand our needs and work on solutions to allow us work towards making the technology deliver on and advance our requirements."

ISC enables wildlife conservation charity, Fauna & Flora International, to improve internal communication and document management using  SharePoint .

Established over a century ago, Fauna & Flora International (FFI) was the world’s first international conservation organisation. FFI’s work spans the globe, with over 100 projects in more than 40 countries, mostly in the developing world.

ISC created a structured SharePoint platform for all teams to share and access key data existing in secure document libraries, Wiki pages and custom lists. ISC customised the design of SharePoint to improve user adoption and drive targeted content relevant to each user.

The new system makes it easier for all staff to have access to the right information in a timely manner and for teams throughout the world to work collaboratively sharing information and ideas.
